Welcome to the New Beginnings website. We are Cynthia Colt and Lesley Munro and we work together as the New Beginnings team supporting the health of mums-to-be, new parents and babies.

New Beginnings was born out of our commitment to offer the best support for the emotional and physical wellbeing of the babies and parents with whom we work. We have a multi-discplinary approach to health and work together and with a number of other complementary health care practitioners. New beginnings therapies can enhance all aspects of health before, during and after pregnancy. Through our work we try to create a space in which you can truly express yourself to better understand your own health and wellbeing.

Lesley Munro, Homeopath and Reflexologist CQCW RSHom GSSR

I am a qualified Reflexologist and Registered Homeopath. I have enjoyed working directly with children for many years and am committed to supporting their long term health. This often starts by supporting mums-to-be through a healthy pregnancy and natural birth. My own two children have been brought up with homeopathy as their main form of healthcare.

As many of you know, this has been a year of change for me. My Father died last April, aged 91, and my Mum died at Christmas, just 9 months later.

Those of you who tried to get appointments with me during the first 12 weeks of this year will know that I was in Guernsey sorting out my parent's affairs and selling the family home.

Although it has been a sad time, it has also been positive.  I has the privilege of being with my mother during the last days of her life. My brother, sister and I were able to look after her at home and to be  at her bedside when she died. Death was a release form long illness and pain for my mother and a release from worry for us.

So 2007 and was for me a year of letting go and marked the end of a particular phase of my life. The first half of 2008 has been endlessly busy. I've travelled a lot back and forwards to Guernsey and have emptied and sold the house. Now I feel that it is time to take stock. So I am going to take some time away from my practice.

The last 7 years at Mulberry House have been great.  The business continues to grow develop. The Mulberry House Foundation, the charity side to Mulberry House, has  started to really take shape in the last year. So there is a lot still to come.  I intend to maintain my relationship with Mulberry House, and will continue to be involved with the Charity. Whilst I am away my friends Jill and Stu will cover some of my clinic commitments. Jill is also able to see clients at her home in Portobello.

I'm planning to go off in August to Crete to do a month of yoga. (If  you're tempted:  www.mariosyoga.com ). Of course, I can't really go off without going on lots of courses. So I plan to come back refreshed and with some new skills.

Watch my website for news www.cynthiacolt.co.uk. Lesley will continue as usual, offering New Beginnings treatments, working alongside Jill.
